Recently you may have received correspondence from the State Member for Granville, David Borger, indicating that he would soon be in your area door knocking so as to "hear from you, listen to your concerns and deliver for your community".
Residents need to be aware that under Mr Borger’s ‘watch’, the State Government have delivered and unprecedented barrage of legislation which overrides the planning powers of your local council and policies which are not in the community’s best interests.
You may wish to ask him:
- Why hasn’t the Government taken a stronger view against the proliferation of the sex industry through your city, allowing these haunts to be controlled by organised crime?
- Why has he supported the sale of our electricity network, and can he guarantee that the traffic on electricity will not increase as a result?
- Why has he supported a State wide control which allows Boarding Houses in ALL residential neighbourhoods where, if development standards are met, they CANNOT be refused by Council?
- Why has he supported the reduction in bus services through many areas and the reduction in train services on the Cumberland Line?
- Why has he supported Housing NSW to be able to undertake residential development of up to 20 units without the consent of the local council?
- Why has he supported multi-unit housing (eg town houses) by both the private and public sector, without reference to the council?
- Why has he supported the infrastructure SEPP which overrides the rights of locals residents and the local council?
- Why has he supported mobile speed cameras against the best advice of the Police & NRMA?
- Why has he supported allowing residential flat buildings in areas where the zoning does not permit?
