State Governments should be about the provision of high quality, efficient and value for money public services.
Further, services should not be based on a ‘one size fits all’ model but customised to local needs. Our bus services are a good example and much more attention to education, policing and community safety is needed.
If elected, I will commit to a process of regular consultation with the community on a precinct by precinct basis, and widen the opportunity for community networking.
A wider community base enables better decisions and creates a freedom from central political control, hence much more local input and more independency.
I believe that the advocacy role of the elected member is to act as the citizens’ champion through a new ‘community call to action’.
